Headless WordPress migration, with your rankings intact

My team and I move company websites from classic WordPress, Wix, Tilda or custom builds to a headless setup: WordPress or EmDash on Cloudflare as the CMS, Next.js on the front end. Fixed scope, weekly demos, every old URL redirected. From €3,000.

What you get from going headless

The same content, a faster and safer site, and a front end that is not held together by plugins

Speed you can measure

Static and edge-rendered pages instead of PHP on every request. Lighthouse scores in the 90s, LCP under 2.5 seconds, no plugin bloat in the front end.

A smaller attack surface

The public site is static files and an API, not a WordPress login page. The CMS sits behind its own domain with restricted access.

Languages without plugin sprawl

Two to seven languages with correct hreflang and one URL structure, AI-assisted translation you can edit, no WPML-style licensing.

Editors keep their workflow

Your team keeps writing in WordPress or in EmDash. Publishing triggers an on-demand rebuild, so changes are live in seconds.

Integrations that fit

Forms into HubSpot, Salesforce or FluentCRM, lead routing with retries, payments, booking, analytics without cookies.

Rankings preserved

Every old URL redirected 1:1, metadata and structured data carried over, Search Console watched for four weeks after launch.

How a migration runs

Five steps, one fixed proposal, no surprises at launch

  1. 1

    Audit

We crawl the current site: URLs, content types, plugins, integrations, traffic per page. You get a migration map and a fixed proposal.

  2. 2

    Backend

WordPress is cleaned into a headless CMS, or content moves to EmDash on Cloudflare. Custom fields, media and taxonomies are modelled properly.

  3. 3

    Front end

Next.js build with your design, or a refreshed one. Weekly demos on a staging URL from the first week.

  4. 4

    SEO transfer

Redirect map, canonicals, hreflang, sitemaps, schema, llms.txt. Both sites are compared page by page before launch.

  5. 5

    Launch & watch

DNS switch, cache warm-up, Search Console monitoring. Support after launch is part of the scope.

Always included

These are not add-ons. A migration that loses rankings or breaks the editors' workflow is not a migration, so every project ships with the full list.

  • 1:1 redirect map for every old URL
  • Titles, descriptions, canonicals, hreflang carried over
  • Structured data: Organization, Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb
  • Sitemap, robots.txt and llms.txt
  • Core Web Vitals check before and after
  • On-demand revalidation on publish
  • Forms routed to your CRM with retries
  • Cookieless EU analytics installed
  • Search Console monitoring for 4 weeks
  • Documentation and a handover call

Headless migration questions

What is a headless WordPress migration?
Your content stays in WordPress, but WordPress stops rendering pages. A separate front end, usually Next.js, fetches content through the REST API and serves fast, static or edge-rendered pages. Editors keep the familiar admin; visitors get a site that loads in under a second.
How much does a headless WordPress migration cost?
From €3,000 for a company site with up to about 15 pages and a blog. Most migrations land between €3,000 and €6,000; multilingual sites with catalogs or integrations start at €5,000. The proposal names a fixed price after a short audit.
Will we lose Google rankings?
Not if the migration is done properly. Every old URL gets a 1:1 redirect, titles, descriptions and structured data are carried over, and we compare both versions page by page before switching DNS. We then watch Search Console for four weeks.
WordPress or EmDash as the headless CMS?
WordPress if your team lives in it and you rely on specific plugins. EmDash on Cloudflare if you want a lighter, cheaper CMS with no server to maintain and global edge delivery. We run both in production and will recommend one after the audit.
Can you migrate from Wix, Tilda or Squarespace?
Yes. Content is exported or crawled, cleaned and imported into WordPress or EmDash, then the new front end is built. The redirect map is especially important on these platforms because their URL structures rarely match.
How long does it take?
It depends on the number of pages, languages and integrations, and on how fast content decisions come back. The proposal states a timeline; while we build you see weekly demos on a staging URL.
